What to expect
This is a formal drawing & painting course for children aged from 9-12yrs with a view to sitting an art entrance exam for schools, applying for a scholarship where a portfolio of art work must be submitted or if they want to have 3:1 lessons.
The course consists of drawing & painting, watercolours, acrylics, pencils & pastels will be explored.
We will look at drawing techniques: measuring for drawing accuracy, shading & composition. The course is taught in very small groups, one teacher to three students.
Over the years we have enjoyed excellent success rates with our students being offered art places at Holland Park School and City of London Girls & Northbridge House.
However, we cannot guarantee that your child will be offered an art place at your chosen school.
These courses are taught by Sarah Riddick BAHons, PGCE, Director of Mini Picassos.
Project this term:
We will look at the eccentric human form through the eyes of Niki De St Phalle. Sculptures to be made in aluminum chicken wire & plaster, completed with acrylic paints and varnishes.
Monday 6th January - Friday 3rd April
All our classes are currently full, please contact us for further information. NEW CLASSES will be added to the timetable after Easter Half-term - Fridays at 4pm + 5pm.
Spaces are limited & no drop-ins.
We hold an annual Grand Exhibition in July, showcasing the work produced by our students. Every child matters, every child exhibits their work, this is a very important part of the Mini Picassos philosophy - Be proud of your artistic achievements!
