Spring Term Week 4 Highlights!
This week at Mini Picassos we have been looking at the work of Modigliani, Thomas Gainsborough and finishing off the wonderful masterpieces inspired by Henri Rousseau!
Romero Britto
This week at our toddler classes we have been looking at the incredible work of Romero Britto whose work is vibrant, bold and colourful and filled with patterns that reflect his optimistic view of the world around him.
In mid-winter we've taken this optimism and our toddlers have created absolutely beautiful pieces!
In time for Valentine's Day we are looking at the work of Keith Haring this coming week! .
4-7 year classes work on their Gainsborough
Born in Suffolk, Thomas Gainsborough is known for his picturesque, countryside paintings. Our 4-7 year classes have been learning about scale and perspective this week. A combination of acrylic painting, collage and oil pastels they have created their own beautiful landscapes.
Half Term Workshops
Half Term is fast approaching and we are getting busy prepping for our exciting workshops! Expect Unicorn Kingdoms, Pokemon madness and all things Valentines! Check out our workshop page for sneak peaks, the full line up of each day and to book!
Our trip of the week...
Tate Modern Turbine Hall with SUPERFLEX
Our weekly recommendation for gallery visits, is Tate Moderns Turbine Hall. Each swing has been designed for three people by Danish artists’ collective SUPERFLEX. Swinging with two other people has greater potential than swinging alone. Swinging as three, our collective energy resists gravity and challenges the laws of nature.
While you're there why not visit the amazing Modigliani Exhibition, as well as the new exhibitions on at the new Tate building!
Come by to our Life Drawing class...
This Monday we have Valerie as our life drawing model, book online or drop in! £15 for two hours, arrive 15 minutes earlier as doors will be shut at 7:30pm!
Hope to see you there!
That's it for this week! Keep up to date with all our classes on our gallery page
