Spring Term Week 7 Highlights

Despite the snow, we have had a very busy week at Mini Picassos! The 13-15 year classes have been working with oil paints, while our toddlers have been looking at the beautiful Autumnal landscapes of Van Gogh. We also opened the Kensal Rise Art Gallery, with the Private view of Illustrator Laura Parker.

Oil Paints and Modigliani

Over the course of the term, the 13-15 year class have been studying the work of Modigliani, working with Sculpture, chalks, and drawing from life with the wonderful Oliwia. The final part of the project was exploring oil paints, and the outcome has been incredible!

Laura Parker's Private View

The wheels are in motion with our new venture. We want to bring exciting use to our wall space in the shop. We felt this would be a perfect opportunity for discovering amazing artists, and using it as a gallery space! Our first artist to use this space, was Illustrator Laura Parker and despite the snow storm the Private View was a great success, a big big thank you to everyone who managed to come out and say hello! Here are the highlights...

Keep an eye out for the details of our next artist Yukako Shibata, who will be showcasing in April. If you would like to be consider please send us your work, and check out Sarah Riddick Gallery.

Our Snow Week

The classes were a little quiet this week, given the snow so there were lots of fun goings on in the shop for all the troopers that made it in.

Toddlers create Van Gogh

Up next week for Toddlers we will be inspired by the wonderful work of Terry Frost and we will be busy creating beautiful pieces in time for Mother's Day.
