Spring: Academic's begin with Still Life

We have had a fantastic start to the Spring Term. Learning the techniques of drawing from life, using more unlikely objects for inspiration. This term we are learning about Paul Cézanne and exploring his beautiful Still Life paintings, which are currently exhibiting at the Tate Modern.

Learning about light and tones of an object, using pencils our students have created really wonderful studies. We will be moving onto painting with acrylics. Gaining an understanding in colour theory, to produce a final painted still life, with a 21st century twist!
